Professional Coaches provide an on-going partnership designed to help people produce fulfilling results in their personal or professional lives.  They help people improve their performance and enhance the quality of their lives.  Coaches create an environment conducive for learning, growth and transformation and support people when they are seeking clarity and alignment with their values.

Coaches are trained to listen, to observe and customize their approach to individual client needs.  They seek to elicit solutions and strategies from the client; they believe the client is naturally creative and resourceful.  The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources and creativity that the client already has.  Coaches listen to the space between the words.

At Living Forward LLC, we use coaching skills to transform environments from fear to trust, gossip and hearsay to open communication and harmful conflict to healthy life-giving conflict. We do this through a series of meetings, 360 degree assessments, individual coaching, and leadership development. We are not typical consultants. We do not tell you what you need to do, we empower you to discover your own solutions and we stay with you through the transition. We support you by providing tools that give you insights, help get you unstuck when you feel stuck, and present a snapshot of your life from different perspectives. We believe you know what is best for you.

How to choose a coach
There are as many types of coaching as there are coaches, so how do you choose a coach?  Any person your are interviewing will be willing to allow mutual exploration, if not, be careful.  If they dodge questions?  Look out.  Take some time, ask for references and then ask your prospective coach these important questions:

  • Where did you receive your training?

  • Is your training certified by the International Coach Federation?

  • Are you certified, or working towards certification by any other national group?

  • Do you work with a coach?

  • Can you show me a copy of their personal/professional ethics?

  • How do you maintain your coaching edge?  (Training, workshops, etc.)

Trust your feelings, if something feels wrong, pay attention to it.
